The Leader Workshop is an exciting, motivating, and enjoyable day of training for leaders. Attend basic training in the morning. Then, in the afternoon, learn tips to help improve your unit and connect and learn from other dedicated leaders in the areas that exemplify the values of Scouting.

The cost of the training is $10 and covers the morning class, afternoon class, lunch, training materials, a trained card, and a BSA-trained patch. 

Participants who have already completed leader-specific training can attend the afternoon training at no charge; please register so enough handouts can be printed.

Cubmaster and Assistant Cubmaster Position-Specific Training

Morning Class: Cubmaster and Assistant Cubmaster Position-Specific Training (C40) is intended to provide Cubmasters and assistant Cubmasters with the basic information they need to conduct successful pack meetings.  

Afternoon Class:

 
  • Camping resources (e.g., Adventure Camp, Resident Camp, Scout Days)
  • Campsite choices and reservations (SHAC, state parks, county parks)
  • Camping food planning and budgeting
  • Campfires
  • Camping themes ideas for weekend camping
  • Pack meeting ideas 
  • Pack event ideas 
  • Pack service ideas 
  • Den/rank hand-down tubs (den leaders) 
  • Supporting den leaders (especially first-timer den leaders)

Pack Committee Challenge

Morning Class: Pack Committee Challenge-Pack Committee Position-Specific Training (C60) is intended to familiarize pack committee members with the various responsibilities of the individual members of the committee as well as the committee as a whole. The goal is to help each pack committee work as a team to improve the Scouting experience for adult and youth members.

Scoutmaster and Assitstant Scoutmaster Position-Specific Training

scoutmasterMorning Class; Scoutmaster Position-Specific Training (S24) is intended to provide troop leaders with the information and tools they need to lead successful troops and teaches practical ways to instill the Scouting methods into troop programs and covers the roles of the Scoutmasters and assistants in a Scout-led troop. 

Afternoon Class: Merit Badge Counselor Orientation is provides council- or district-approved and registered merit badge counselors with an understanding of the methods of counseling and their role in the advancement program of Boy Scouts of America. Merit badge application forms, and adult application forms will be available onsite for new counselors. 

 

Troop Committee Challenge

scoutmasterMorning Class; Troop Committee Challenge helps troop committee members better understand their roles and responsibilities. This training enables troop committee members to give support to the troop, Scouts, and Scoutmasters. Troop Committee Challenge is an in-person course only.  The training takes about two to two and a half hours to complete.
