Council Administration

Marvin Smith

The Chief Operating Officer is responsible for field operations, support services, and operations of the Cockrell Scout Center; and manages the implementation of the council's strategic plan and the construction of the new Camp Strake. The Chief Operating Officer reports to the CEO/Scout Executive.

The Controller oversees council accounts and financial activity and supports the council treasurer, audit committee, and investment committee and supervises the staff in the business services department. The controller reports to the CEO/Scout Executive.

Field Service

The Director of Field Service is responsible for all district operations, unit service, membership growth, and supervision of the field service team of professional Scouters, paraprofessionals, and Sales and Onboarding. The Director of Field Service reports to the Chief Operating Officer.

Christopher Hogue

The North Division field director reports to the Director of Field Service.

The West Division Field Director is responsible for all district operations, unit service, and membership growth in the West Division and supervises district executives in Big Cypress, David Crockett, Red Wolf, and Texas Skies Districts. The West Division field director reports to the Director of Field Service.

The Field Development Director provides direct leadership for the council’s product sales campaigns (popcorn and Spring Fundraiser). The position also provides leadership to all grant and foundation support. The Field Development Director - Product Sales reports to the Director of Field Service.

Support Services

The Director of Support Service is responsible for developing council camping, activities, and training programs, all council properties, supervises the program directors and Information Technologies, support staff, as well as the council registrar and the registration team. The Director of Support Service reports to the Chief Operating Officer.

The Assistant Director of Support Services is responsible for providing leadership and support to the Cub Scout camping programs, camping reservations, quartermaster equipment, Bovay Scout Ranch, and Camp Brosig and supervises the Program Director. The Assistant Director of Support Services reports to the Director of Support Service.

The Camping Director is responsible for supporting the camping program at Camp Strake, and serving as the staff advisor to the camping, shooting sports, climbing, and aquatics committees.  The Camping Director reports to the Director of Support Service.

The Activities, Advancement, and Training Program Director is responsible for developing the council's activitiestraining, and advancement committee committees. The Program Director reports to the Assistant Director of Support Services.
Margarita Bernal

The council registrar is responsible for receiving applications for charters and membership, handling membership transfers, verifying that the appropriate fees are collected, issuing membership cards, maintaining membership files, and preparing recharter kits. The registrar reports to the Director of Support Service.

The Director of Membership Development is responsible for leading new unit development and membership recruitment campaigns, including BeAScout. Supervises the New Unit Sales team, Onboarding team, and BeAScout.org coordinator. The Director of Membership Development reports to the Director of Field Service.

The New Unit Sales Director is responsible for developing new units throughout the council by engaging with faith-based, community, and civic organizations and identifying how they can utilize Scouting as an outreach of their ministry/programming. The New Unit Sales Director reports to the Assistant Director of Field Service / Director of Membership Development.

The Onboarding Director is responsible for all operations, services, and outcomes of the Onboarding Division, including supervision and development of the council’s onboarding team. The Onboarding Director reports to the Assistant Director of Field Service / Director of Membership Development.

The BeAScout Coordinator is responsible for providing support to new membership inquiries through the BeAScout.org online system and online registration systems. The BeAScout.org Coordinator reports to the Assistant Director of Field Service / Director of Membership Development.

Development

The Director of Development is responsible for leading the development operations in Friends of Scouting, World of Scouting Reception and the New Eagle Scout Reception, United Way, foundations and trustsspecial events, and marketing. The position provides direct leadership to the council board campaign. The Director of Development supervises the staff in the Development Department. The Director of Development reports to the Scout Executive.

The Assistant Director of Development is responsible for leading the Community Friends of Scouting annual giving campaign in Bryan/College Station and the East Fort Bend County area as well as the Sporting Clays Tournament. The position provides coordination and oversight of supporting initiatives in the areas of development services and donor relations. The Assistant Director of Development reports to the Director of Development.
