BE PREPARED, the motto of the Boy Scouts of America. In an effort to help Scouting families and supporters prepare for the future, the Endowment Committee of the Sam Houston Area Council, Boy Scouts of America is offering a free Wills & Trusts Seminar. Come learn about the benefits of having a Will or Trust and how having one could support your loved ones or organizations close to your heart.
Everyone is welcome to attend and welcome to invite their friends and neighbors. Michael C. Riddle, Certified Probate and Estate Planning Attorney of Riddle & Akiens, will be conducting this free seminar as a community service for Scouting. You may have heard Michael on the Christian Home Show on KHCB 105.7 fm. As an owner of Riddle and Akiens, he has practiced law for over thirty years in the FM 1960 area.
A Will is especially important if you want to decide where your belongings go. An up-to-date Will is an important document that everyone should have. Don’t go without having a Will. Without one, State law will determine what happens to your property. The state makes the choice. The state follows unalterable laws that will not consider your wishes unless desires unless you have important document. For the past three decades, 70% - 80% of Americans pass without having a will. Reasons why we avoid preparing the will. Reasons why you should consider a trust.
You can adjust your current Will with a Codicil. Join the Scouting Heritage Society by completing a Letter of Intent.
Please remember the Sam Houston Area Council, BSA in your Will, Trust, or estate plans.
