Scoutreach

Scoutreach logoSam Houston Area Council is committed to making Scouting accessible to youth that may not be able to join a traditional unit. Scoutreach is a school-based Scouting program for our youth. The Scouts receive all of the same opportunities as a traditional unit, including summer camp, resident camp, and community service. Qualified volunteers, call the ScoutReach Corps, assist paid program specialists with teaching providing Scouts with high-quality Scouting experiences in elementary schools throughout the greater Houston area.

ScoutReach Corps

photo of ScoutreachScoutReach Corps is a way for Scouters, Eagle Scouts, parents, and Scouting alumni to give back to Scouting by donating their skills to help our most needy Scouts. Donate a few hours, a day, or a weekend to help directly with 10,000 Scouts enrolled in the Sam Houston Area Council’s ScoutReach program. Volunteers are needed to help with Cub Scout and Webelos Scout meetings, weekend events (e.g., pinewood derby, cuboree, camporee), weekend camping and summer camp.

Volunteers must be 21 years of age, take Youth Protection Training online at my.scouting.org every two years, and complete a BSA Scout application. If you were ever a Scout, an Eagle Scout, current or past Scouting volunteer, or are experienced with working with youth, then you have the necessary skills.
