Master of Ceremonies will be Jose Grinan, morning news anchor at Fox 26 Television. Event features a special presentation of the Distinguished Eagle Scout Award to Charles J. Jacobus, Sr. and his keynote address to the 2012-13 Eagle Scout Class. Recognitions include the 2012 Eagle Class Namesake - C. Travis Traylor, Jr., NESA Outstanding Eagle Scout Award, and Adams Service Project of the Year Award. Every 2012-13 Eagle Scout who RSVPs and attends the New Eagle Reception will receive the special Sam Houston Area Council Eagle Scout Medallion pictured to the right.
The Sam Houston Area Council continues its tradition in 2013 of providing this reception free of charge for the Eagle Scout Class of 2012-13 and their guests, which will be underwritten with generous sponsorships by many Eagle Scout Alumni, Charter Members, Scouting supporters, and Patrons. Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Eagle Scout Alumni, Scouters, Scoutmasters and Cubmasters are all encouraged to attend this special program to recognize the Eagle Scout Class 2012-13, the Adams Project of the Year Award, NESA Outstanding Eagle Scout Award recipients, and our 23rd Distinguished Eagle Scout Award recipient.

Help celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the Eagle Scout Award and honor the 2012-13 Eagle Scout Class of the Sam Houston Area Council with a 2013 sponsorship. Your sponsorship will support the growth of Scouting and the recognition of the hard work of the 1186 Eagle Scouts in 2012, including our annual New Eagle Scout Reception, and provide vital funding for Scouting programs throughout the Sam Houston Area Council. Attire: Appropriate attire for 2012-13 Eagle Scouts is full field uniform. Scoutmasters, Parents, and Scouters may wear field uniform or business casual. Refreshments Served: Cake and punch will be served at a reception between 3:00 and 4:00. This not a banquet and the formal program will be in stadium-style seating.
