SHAC
Health Forms

Beginning January 1, 2010, the new Annual Health Form will be used by all Scouts and Leaders. It is good for 12 months from the date of the exam by a health care professional. Many questions about use of this form are answered in the FAQ's.

Philmont, Seabase and Northern Tier still require a more detailed health form.

Tour Permits

Local and National Tour Permits can be filed through myscouting.org. This is the most efficient way of filing tour permits. If tour permits are filed through this system, there is not need to get signatures and can all be handled through your computer with the approved permit being returned to you electronically. For instructions on filing a tour permit electronically, click here.

For a paper copy of a tour permit click here for Local and here for National. These forms must be filled in completely and mailed, brought in, scanned & emailed (carmen.rodriguez@shac.org or kathy.bozarth@shac.org) or faxed (713-865-9199) to the Cockrell Scout Center.

Guide to Safe Scouting

The purpose of the Guide to Safe Scouting is to prepare adult leaders to conduct Scouting activities in a safe and prudent manner. The policies and guidelines have been established because of the need to protect members from known hazards that have been identified through 90-plus years of experience. Limitations on certain activities should not be viewed as stumbling blocks; rather, policies and guidelines are best described as stepping-stones toward an enjoyable adventure.

All volunteers participating in official Scouting activities should become familiar with the Guide to Safe Scouting. Unit leaders should be aware of state and local government regulations that supersede Boy Scouts of America policies and guidelines. Click here.
