    “Scouting’s Journey to Excellence”

    Journey to Excellence is the BSA’s new council performance recognition program designed to encourage and reward success and measure the performance of our units, districts, and councils. It is replacing the Centennial Quality Awards Program as a means of encouraging excellence in providing a quality program at all levels of the BSA.

    Below you will find links to help you, District Comittee volunteers, understand and track monthly how your area of responsibility is supporting to the District's scorecard. These reports will be updated monthly.

    Finance

    1) Fundraising: Achieve district finance goals as defined by the council.

    • Bronze – Increase in net finance contributions (+$1) to the council over pervious year (Net Scout Fair, Net Popcorn, and Gross FOS)
    • Silver – Increase 2% finance contributions over pervious year (Net Scout Fair, Net Popcorn, and Gross FOS)
    • Gold – Hit all finance goals for the year (Net Scout Fair, Net Popcorn, and Gross FOS)

    2) Fundraising Manpower: Achieve district goals related to volunteers involved in fundraising as defined by the council.

    • Bronze – Have the following positions filled for 2012: Scout Fair Chair, Popcorn Chair/Kernel, Finace Chair, Community FOS Chair, Family FOS Chair, and Patron Event FOS Chair
    • Silver – Have 1 family FOS presenter per 4 units (troops and packs only) and each presenter has given at least one presentation
    • Gold – Have the following positions filled by 11-01-13 for next year’s campaign: Family FOS Chair, Community FOS Chair, and Patron Event FOS Chair

    3) Market Share: Increase market share (Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Varsity Scouts, Venturers, and Explorers)
