Like many of us, we are so proud of our Scouting accomplishments. A Wood Badge participant or staffer has committed themselves to improving their leadership and quality of Scouting for the youth in Scouting. Scouting has given lifelong memories and has made a difference in so many lives. Sometimes it is hard to pinpoint the appropriate recognition that would be truly meaningful.
What you might not have considered is a lifetime membership in the James E. West Fellowship. James E. West was the first Chief Scout Executive of the Boy Scouts of America for 33 years. The James E. West Fellowship is a recognition program for $1000 gifts made to endowment ensuring that the Council will continue to offer the outstanding programs we now have and allow growth to meet the future needs of our youth and communities. But right now even a $500 gift can become a James E. West member.
Your donation of $500 can honor your Graduate with a James E West gift. The Council is very fortunate to be the recipient of
The Cockrell Foundation Matching Gift Program which matches dollar for dollar on all gifts to endowment of $500-$25,000. These gifts can be pledged and paid over several months as long as they are paid in full by December 15, 2013. Your honoree will receive a certificate, a knot for the uniform, and a lapel pin.
We all want Scouting to benefit every youth, family, and community in the area, but expanding the scope and vigor of Scouting’s programs will require more resources. You can both help the Council “Be Prepared” for the future and honor a Wood Badger.
