You must be proud of your Eagle Scout and have seen the benefits of Scouting in your family. You know that Scouting helps young men and women build character, citizenship, and fitness. He has also learned to “Be Prepared”. What you might not know is that Scouting will be even more important in coming years. Scouting can benefit every youth, family, and community in our area, but expanding the scope and vigor of Scouting’s programs will require more resources. You can both help the Council “Be Prepared” for the future and honor your Eagle Scout with a lifetime membership in the James E. West Fellowship.
The James E. West Fellowship is a recognition program for gifts made to endowment ensuring that the Council will continue to offer the outstanding programs we now have and allow growth to meet the future needs of our youth and communities. The Cockrell Foundation Matching Gift Program matches dollar for dollar on all gifts to endowment of $500-$25,000. These gifts can be pledged and paid over several months as long as they are paid in full by December 15, 2012. Your son will receive a certificate, a knot for his uniform, a lapel pin, and leave his mark on Scouting for decades to come..
