Scouting provides positive alternatives even in a changing demographic environment. Troop 212, located in Houston’s 3rd Ward and chartered to St. James Episcopal Church, has been active for over 70 years. Just over the past 10 years, Troop 212 has produced 22 Eagle Scouts. All of which have attended or graduated from college. Through a changing demographic and Socio-Economic climate, Scouting has sustained a consistent and strong program for youth development in this neighborhood and across southeast Texas. — LIONEL JELLINS SCOUTMASTER TROOP 212 AND COMMUNITY LEADER
