    COMMISSIONER TRAINING

Basic Training for Unit Commissioners is a three part course focusing on why we have Unit Commissioners, why the unit is the Commissioner's top priority, and how the Commissioner can help a unit succeed.

Commissioner Basic Training is offered at least twice each year in the spring and fall, with special sessions held when needed. Basic training consists of one half day of classroom lectures and demonstrations, followed up by supervised field visits to assigned units, where new Unit Commissioners are accompanied by their mentoring (experienced) commissioner on a visit to an assigned Pack, Troop, Crew or Ship.

Once a new Unit Commissioner has completed Commissioner Basic Training he may wear the "Unit Commissioner" shoulder patch and the "Trained" patch.
