Visit www.BuildingStrongValues.org to learn more about Cub Scouts.

We have some exciting new materials to help you with your recruiting efforts!

As school begins this fall, the Fall Recruiting Campaign campaign will be in full swing with the intent to give every eligible boy the opportunity to join a Scouting program.

The Sam Houston Area Council is planning to recruit 13,500 new Scouts. The campaign has a professionally coordinated design and theme for the flyers, posters, principal/secretary mugs, outdoor ads, yard signs, t-shirts, radio and TV ads, etc.  NOW is the time for every pack to be planning their rally night.

Yard Signs-Approximately 30,000 "Join Cub Scout Now" yard signs are available for every Cub Scout family. This message will help spread the word that it is time to join Scouting. Signs will be available at district meetings, please put them in your front yard 3 weeks before your rally date. Please keep the yard signs for future Recruiting Campaigns.

The yard sings below are designed to go in the yards of families/organizations that support Scouting.

Commercial/PSA:
Start looking for the award winning spots September 1. Comcast Cable has graciously agreed to donate PSAs in their rotation. We will be airing 3 spots in English and one spot in Spanish. View the videos here.

Plan now to join in the campaign to give every eligible youth the opportunity to be a Scout. Ask someone to join Scouting today!

Ideas on how Packs and leaders can help get the message out.

• Classroom visits
• Posters in schools, businesses, religious organizations, etc.
• Scouts wear uniforms on the day of rally
• Parents who are leaders have lunch with their son on day of rally wearing their leader uniform
• Put messages on the marquee at schools, businesses and subdivisions
• Pack sets up a Pinewood Derby, Pushmobile or some kind of activity after school during the week prior to the rally
• Have the Cub Scouts conduct the school or PTA flag ceremony prior to School Night to Join Scouting
• Public Address (PA) announcement in school on day of rally
• Articles in local newspapers, subdivision newsletters, as well as school and religious institution newsletters
• Shoe polish messages on family cars when they drop off and pick up their kids at school
• Post yard signs is every Scout families' yard!

• Chalk messages on sidewalk.

  • Be Creative!
