Where do I sign my title in order to transfer my vehicle to you?  Signing the front of your vehicle's title is sufficient.  Once you have described your vehicle to us (using online form) - all we need is your title and Power of Attorney to start the donation process.  Please call us at (713) 756-3318.

Do I need a clear title to donate my vehicle?  Generally speaking, yes.  However, there may be some extenuating circumstances.  Please contact us.

What information do I need to provide you if  I decide to donate my vehicle?  Simply contact us with your vehicle's year, make, model and mileage. Our phone is (713) 756-3318 / email: cars@shac.org    We will give final instruction.

Will you still accept my vehicle if it doesn’t run?  Usually so.  ... Please tell us more about your vehicle by completing our donation form online or via a PDF form.

Do the Boy Scouts take cars that are not whole?  Cars need to be whole.  If there are issues of corrosion or damage from an accident please let us know.

How do I know how much to claim as a tax write off for my gift?  After your car sells we will send a letter of acknowledgement. If questions still exist, please check with a tax professional to determine the extent of tax benefit you may receive from a donation.   You may also want to review the IRS provides a publication A Donor’s Guide to Car Donations (FYI).

How will my car be picked up?  You will receive a call to arrange a time for pickup (vehicle and keys).  Your vehicle will be picked up by a licensed, bonded and insured towing company or in some instances arrangements will be made for a council representative to come by. 

Do you accept motor cycles? Generally speaking, no.

Do you accept house trailers?  Again, usually not.
