MEMORIAL/TRIBUTE FUND
The Sam Houston Area Council has a Memorial/Tribute Fund established for its Scouters and supporters to make living and lasting tax-deductible contributions to the Scouting program. Contributions may be made for any amount as a living memorial or lasting tribute to a departed relative or friend or in honor of an important event, for an individual such as good wishes to friends, on special occasions such as birthdays, anniversaries, promotions, graduations, birth, marriage, retirement, Eagle Scout recognition, Silver Beaver recognition and recuperation from illness.
The Memorial/Tribute Fund is intended to accommodate those who want to express in a most meaningful way their deepest feeling that may not be achieved by words alone. Condolences, recognition or congratulations may be expressed through the use of the Memorial/Tribute Fund, when material gifts or remembrances may not be desirable or appropriate.
A contribution to the Memorial/Tribute Fund not only honors the individual or group in whose name the gift is made, but is an investment in the future of America. By aiding the Sam Houston Area Council, Boy Scouts of America, you are helping today’s youth to become tomorrow’s better citizens.
Upon receipt of a contribution, the Council will mail a suitable, attractive card to the family or group in whose memory or honor the gift is made and send an acknowledgment to you. A list of those being memorialized, and those receiving tributes will be published in the Scouter. Monies received in the Memorial/Tribute Fund are placed in the Council's permanent endowment fund and only the interest of such funds is ever used. This interest is a part of the Council investment income that helps pay for camping, special activities and training.
