What is Friends of Scouting?
The Friends of Scouting Campaign supports the premier youth program in the world and is the largest single source of funding for the programs of the Sam Houston Area Council, Boy Scouts of America.

As parents, we want our children to have a great education, be safe and happy, and learn duty to God. We have ajust a few short years to equip them with the knowledge to make the right decisions whn life presents adversity. Scouting is the perfect tool to help your children have better lives!

Commemorative patch, mug, and collectors council strip.

Commemorative patch, mug, collectors council strip, and baseball style hat.

(Support 2 Scouts) Plaques will be presented for this individual contributions
What your dollars fund:
- Camp Strake, Janis and George Fleming Cub Scout World, Walter Horseshoe Bend, Cockrell River Camp, Bovay Scout Ranch, Hamman Scout Camp, and Camp Brosig provide 7,436 acres of outdoor camping facilities that hosted 225,408 nights of camping.
- A team of 60 professional Scouters support more than 98,000 youth and 21,000 volunteers.
- Provide camp scholarships to all Scouts whose leaders request assistance.
- Five Scout shops provide uniforms, advancement and program materials.
- Develop and maintain communications to better support unit programs.
- Serve approximately 38,000 "at risk" youth.
- Serve approximately 20,000 women through the Venturing and Exploring programs.
- Increase our marketing efforts to encourage more youth to join Scouting.
- Continued improvements to council camps including infrastructure repair, renovation, and new programs.
