Learning for Life: Public Service

Welcome to the Learning for Life Division Exploring: Public Service website.  The Learning for Life Division of the Sam Houston Area Council is now organized into 6 service areas.

Exploring - Public Service includes the career interest areas:

• Aviation
• Fire & Emergency Services
• Law Enforcement
• Military
• Medical & Medical Technician

Exploring - Public Service serves more than 5000 youth with the help of 250 adult volunteers.

Activities and programs the Exploring Public Service group supports are the Spring Military Leadership and Training Camporee, the council sponsored Law Enforcement competition held in December, and the Summer Leadership Training Academy. Future activities that will be initiated will be the bi-annual Law Enforcement Training Boot Camp, Emergency Action City Drill, and an Aviation Conference.

The Learning for Life Division has partnered with the University of Houston, Houston Astros, and Houston Rockets to sponsor the Careers in Professional Sports Programs.
