The council High Adventure Committee consists of Scouting and Venturing volunteers with over 200+ years of high adventure experience in backpacking, canoeing, kayaking, shooting sports, water sports, cycling, rock climbing/rappelling, and adventure trip planning where members' boots, paddles or fins have touched nearly every accessible trail and waterway across the lower-48, Alaska, Hawaii, and Europe.

Mission

The mission of the Sam Houston Area Council High Adventure Committee is to promote quality high adventure activities within the council and increase unit participation in such activities.
Vision

High adventure generates highly skilled and motivated youth, trained and tested in leadership skills, ready to lead others to live the adventure. These youth showcase the fun of Scouting, keeping other youth members involved in Scouting.
Goals

1. Education

Educate unit leaders and youth members on the benefits of a quality high adventure program.
2. Training Provide training opportunities for unit leaders and youth members.
3. Knowledge Maintain a team of knowledgeable volunteers, vendors, and experts.
4. Opportunities Promote local, region, and national high adventure opportunities.
5. Recognition Promote the best "Who Went Where" trips.
