“WISHES & NEEDS”

The 2005 “Wishes & Needs” is designed to allow individuals or businesses to help the Camping programs and facilities of the Sam Houston Area Council. The “Gifts-In-Kind” program is a segment of the 2005 Friends of Scouting endeavor to raise more than $175,000 Foods and Services.

The Gifts-In-Kind program strives to provide the council with a wide range of items needed for the continued operations of its variety of programs and services. This program encourages contributors to look within their organizations for items that would be of value to the Boy Scouts. The local council can use not only donated goods and services, but also items provided at a discount, donated new or used surplus materials, and monetary contributions that would offer the donor a named opportunity or even send Scouts to Camp with “Campership Assistance.”

     o Construction & Maintenance (Plumbing, carpentry, Electrical, Roadwork, Refrigeration, etc.)
     o Computers/Media/Photography
     o Horses/Tack Supplies
     o Vehicles/Equipment
     o Painting
     o Furniture
     o Business Services/Supplies
     o Food, Related Food Services & Equipment

Note: Contributions and donations will be accredited to Council “Gift-In-Kind” Campaign and not individual district or unit campaigns. Acceptance of donations will include recognitions and IRS Form 8283.
