Harlem Globetrotters World of Fun Tour

Heritage Alive 2005 – March 4-6 2005 – Camp Strake

All Jewish Scouts, (Girl Scouts of all ages, Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Explorers) and their parents, brothers and sisters are invited to join the fun for a weekend Kinus (Jewish Retreat) with the theme Heritage Alive 2005 on March 4-6, 2005, at Camp Strake in Conroe, Texas, sponsored by the Houston Jewish Committee on Scouting.


Houston Museum of Natural Science

Houston Zoo

The Houston Zoo offers special activities throughout the year for Cub Scouts and Webelos Scouts. McNair Cub Adventure Camp – Bovay Scout Ranch / Navasota, Texas

Packs, dens, or individual families can make reservations at this fee-base program camp near Navasota.  Activities include archery, pellet guns, BMX bikes, horizontal climbing wall, fishing, swimming, nature, astronomy, hiking, and much more!  Four meals served in an air-conditioned dining hall are included in your registration fee.  NOTE:  This is the only approved site at which Tiger Cub, Wolf, or Bear Cub Scout dens may camp as a den unit rather than as part of a pack overnighter campout.  See Sam Houston Area Council Cub Scout Camping Guidelines for more information.

Puff-Up - Catholic Scouting Retreat– October 1, 2005

Conducted by the Galveston-Houston Diocesan Catholic Committee on Scouting, Puff-Up is a day long set of activities for Tiger Cubs and Cub Scouts and their families to promote a deeper understanding of the Catholic faith.  Family camping is available on Friday and Saturday night.

Ten Commandments Hike

Sam Houston Area Council is hosting the 10th Annual Ten Commandments Hike in conjunction with Scout Sunday and Scout Sabbbath. Hikes will take place in three separate locations in the Houston area. Scouts, parents, and others will visit religious institutions of different faiths; they will hear a representative give a brief explanation of the history and distinct nature of that faith, as well as an explanation of one of the Ten Commandments.
